U.S. open to dealing with North Korea on imprisoned Lynnwood man

MyNNNIn an effort to win the release of Kenneth Bae, sentenced to 15 years of hard labor in North Korea, the U.S. has indicated it is willing to engage that country, though exactly how was not clear.

Our news partner, the Seattle Times, noted that the U.S. on Tuesday signaled a willingness to engage North Korea to secure the release of a Lynnwood man sentenced to 15 years of hard labor in the authoritarian country.

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf would not say whether the U.S. might send a high-level official to Pyongyang to seek freedom for 45-year-old Kenneth Bae.
