Unity Church planning Tanzania trip to help build hospital, accepting donations

unityUnity Church in Lynnwood is planning a June trip to Tanzania, where 11 members of Unity will help build a children’s hospital, birthing center and orphanage during their first global outreach project.

In partnership with International Health Partners, Unity members will contribute more than two weeks of labor to the Zinga Project, which aims to serve Tanzanian children, high-risk mothers and orphans less than two years old. It will be the first hospital dedicated to the 18 million Tanzanian children age 14 and under.

“We could be building fences, painting, and planting flowers and gardens. Whatever needs to be done is what we will do,” said Barb Keogan, Unity administrator. “I am so excited and honored by this amazing opportunity.”

Keogan added that Unity Church in Lynnwood welcomes donations to help fund the trip and needed supplies. Donations can be made by calling the church at 425-741-7172, or online at www.unityinlynnwood.org.
