UPDATE: Lynnwood Gun and Ammo hit by major theft

Lynnwood Gun and Ammo

More than 100 handguns were stolen from Lynnwood Gun and Ammunition sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning. The owner discovered the theft when he got to work around noon. The store is located at 208th and Highway 99.

Police say there’s evidence of forced entry but won’t say how the thieves got in, although they may have tunneled up from underneath. There’s some torn-up insulation and a hole in the exterior floor on the side of the building.

Ahmed Shoeb, who runs Marie’s Pizza next door, says it’s generally a pretty safe neighborhood. He told us, “Lynnwood Police are tough.” The only other incident he recalls was last year when someone pulled out a knife and ran through the back of his restaurant.

Police don’t yet know what the thieves plan to do with the guns. The store did not have surveillance cameras.
