Lynnwood detectives executed a search warrant on a vehicle overnight and have recovered the money, the weapon and the clothing from the robbery. They are continuing to follow up on the investigation.
On Thursday, Dec. 12 at approximately 5:10 p.m., a single adult male committed an armed robbery of the US Bank located at 19420 Highway 99 in Lynnwood. The suspect’s vehicle was located in a business complex located in the 7500 block of 196th St. SW. Initially officers had difficulty determining if the suspect could be hiding in the rear seat of the vehicle due to a large amount of items mounded up in the back seat.
Lynnwood and Edmonds police officers and detectives converged on the scene to assist. The business complex was busy with customers shopping. Several businesses were locked down as officers attempted to clear the vehicle. When the vehicle was cleared it was learned that suspect was not inside.
Shortly after learning the vehicle was empty and while a K-9 track for the suspect was ongoing, officers responded to a witness who believed they may have seen the suspect just to the north of the business complex. The subject, who is the registered owner of the suspect vehicle, was located and taken into custody at approximately 7:50 p.m. The suspect is a 50 year old white male.
