Utility pole down after DUI crash Monday morning

A utility pole was knocked down on 196th Street Southwest just east of 24th Avenue West after a car crashed into it on Monday morning before 2 a.m.

The downed pole caused 196th Street Southwest to be closed until just before 7 a.m. as crews investigated the crash and repaired the pole.

The car’s front end was damaged.

Lynnwood Police Sergeant Sean Doty said the car was occupied by a driver and a passenger, both men in their 30s. The passenger was transported to Harborview Medical Center with unknown injuries. The driver was arrested for DUI and vehicular assault.
