Now in its 30th year of providing wardrobes to low-income families in Snohomish County, Clothes For Kids is seeking volunteers to sort clothing, stock shelves and racks, and assist shoppers at check in and check out.
“We rely on volunteers,” said Nancy Laird-Burris, Program Manager for Clothes For Kids, which has been serving Snohomish County since 1984. “With a minimal staff, our volunteers are what make it possible for us to provide more than 4,000 wardrobes each year.”
Clothing Assistant volunteers sign up for one shift per week. Shifts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings (8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5:30 p.m.- 8 p.m.). Volunteers are needed for all shifts.
“We operate on a shoestring budget,” said Mike Gibson, Clothes For Kids Board President. “It is only through our generous volunteers and clothing donors that we are able to continue to grow our services and meet the needs of even more children.”
On Aug. 21, Clothes For Kids will open its doors for back-to-school “shopping,” which is free to all qualified students.
