Volunteers are needed at the Lynnwood Postal Station to sort, load, and distribute food collected during the annual Letter Carriers Food Drive on May 11.
There are three two-hours shifts (12-2 p.m, 2-4 p.m. and 4-6:30 p.m.) at the facility located at 6817 208th St. SW. in Lynnwood.
This annual food drive brings in about 50 percent of all of the food collected in our region for local food banks. About 1 in 7 people in Snohomish County are considered food insecure, meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from? This year, the goal is to collect 350,000 pounds of food.
Don’t forget to leave a bag of food for your postal worker on May 11. You will receive a yellow bag in your mailbox prior to that date.
