Man arrested for attempted robbery at Walgreen’s

A 29-year-old Mountlake Terrace man was arrested after allegedly trying to rob the Walgreen’s on Highway 99 at 207th Street SW.

Police say he jumped over the pharmacy counter on Saturday and demanded Oxycontin.

“When the pharmacist told him that the medication was in a safe he put a knife on her back and asked where other narcotics were located,” said Shannon Sessions, police spokesperson. The victim was not physically hurt.

Customers in the store detained the suspect until officers arrived. He is a six-time convicted felon and is being held on $100,000 bail for one count of robbery in the first degree.

Police recovered the knife at the scene.
