A 20-year-old Edmonds woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center early Tuesday morning after a car in which she was riding was struck head on by another vehicle on Highway 99 just north of Lynnwood.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash, a 45-year-old woman from Auburn, was booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of DUI, the Washington State Patrol said.

Hannah Wood, 20, of Edmonds was a passenger in a Hyundai Elantra driven by 54-year-old David Black of Everett, who was also injured in the crash and transported to Providence Hospital in Everett, the state patrol said.

According to the state patrol, the suspect was driving her Hyundai Sonata the wrong direction in the southbound lane on Highway 99 near State Route 525 and the victims were headed southbound on the same roadway when the suspect struck the victims’ vehicle head-on.
