Work continues on 76th Avenue W. Sewer/Water project

Work will continue on the 76th Avenue. W. Sewer/Water project next week.

Weekend and non-working hour traffic control plan has been revised from two lanes of travel to a single lane of travel from Friday 6 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m. for a duration of up to eight weeks or until the sanitary sewer work is completed. A portable traffic signal system has been implemented which will sequence directional vehicular traffic.

The City of Lynnwood and Edmonds have elected to include this portable system into the project to lessen noise from the steel plates by keeping traffic off of them.

By taking a lane during the non-working hours, it is expected to see reduced speeds and greater compliance with the reduced speed limit.

Here are the construction activities planned for Aug. 19-23:

· Continued installation of 28” fusion sewer pipe

· Backfilling and compaction of soil in trenches

· Installation of 2” fiber conduit and splice vaults
